russians issue notice on home study agencies
The Russian Ministry of Education and Science sent a letter to all of the regions with a list of home study providers who have not submitted post placements reports as required by law.
T
he Russian government takes post-placement reports very seriously. As well they should. It gives them an idea of how the child is doing in their new environment which in turn paves the way for more children find forever families.
Its a very important step in the adoption process.
Last month, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science sent a letter to all of the regions with a list of home study providers who have not submitted post placements reports as required by law.
The MOE is recommending regions not accept future post placement commitments from these home study agencies.
Since post placement commitments are an important part of a Russian dossier, its important for a prospective adoptive parent to keep in mind - if your homestudy agency is on the list, it may affect your adoption even if you are working with an agency that has a Russian Permit for Adoption Activity. Chance are your homestudy will not be accepted by the region, or by the judge at court.
You need to talk with your agency for advice ad with your homestudy provider to see what they're doing to correct the problem.
If you're interested in finding out who is on the list, take a look at this document compiled by PEAR.
