Blogging is a great way to not only learn more about the adoption process for the country you're going to, but also to connect with othe.r parents

O
ther adoptive parents are a great resource when it comes to picking adoption agencies, understanding your child's culture and figuring out how to navigate the rough waters of international adoption. Networking with other PAPS is crucial in the success of your journey. Here are some ideas on how to get started.

Network via e-groups -
Yahoo is a great resource for adoption e-groups. They have every imaginable type of group to choose from. Some groups have large followings, others are smaller...but most of them are a great source of information. Other organizations offer them as well...search the web to find one that is right for you.

Agency Families - Ask your agency for contact information of other families in the process - if they're any kind of agency they'll help you out. If they don't, beware - why would they not want you to communicate with other adoptive parents?

Blog away - Blogging is a great way to not only learn more about the adoption process for the country you're going to, but also to connect with other parents...and that support is critical, especially while in the country. If you can blog about your experience and receive feedback and support, it can help make your time in your child's country that much more smooth.

Get on board - There are many adoption groups who have online boards where the latest information is conveyed...and tips shared.
