weighing your options

The bathroom scale is an important part of packing for success.

I
t takes a lot of cash to locate and bring home your child, so its important to cut costs where you can. One of the easiest places to save is in avoiding unnecessary fees.
Airlines have put all kinds of restrictions on luggage on international flights and the fees they charge for bulky bags can be unreal. Now, more than ever, its important to make sure your luggage isn't too heavy.
That's where your bathroom scale comes in.
First off...you need to check with your airline to find out what the weight limits is. For most international flights each bag can not weigh more than 50 pounds...but some airlines limit it to 44.
Double check to make sure.
Then start packing.
About a week before you're set to leave, start weeding your way through what you really need to bring with you, and what you can leave home. If you wait until the night before your flight, you won't have time to make those important decisions.
Pack all you think you need, and then carefully weight each bag on your bathroom scale. If you're overweight, start removing some more unnecessary stuff, and repeat as needed. Scales differ so strive to bring it in a few pounds below the maximum.
