skype, skype, skype

All you need is a laptop, an internet connection and a headset or one of these nifty little things.

One of the biggest concerns parents-to-be have when traveling overseas is how they'll keep in touch with family and friends back in the States.
I have one word for you.
Skype.
The digital phone system is easy to download onto your laptop (skype.com)...and can save you tons of money on calls back to the U.S.
All you need is a laptop, an Internet connection (even dial-up will work) and a headset or one of these nifty little things...
A Skype Phone.
The great thing about Skype is if you are calling another Skype account the call is absolutely FREE.
If you're calling a land line phone there is a small per minute charge.
The calls sound much like a regular phone call (unless using a dial-up system in which case there is a slight delay which can take some getting used to).
Web cams are also an option, which make keeping in touch with family and friends that much more fun.

Skype is SUCH a blessing! We use it to talk to/see my brother, his wife and (most importantly) my baby nephew as they are missionaries in the Netherlands. It works so well and I know that some orphanages in Haiti even use it for adoptive parents to communicate with their children!! :o)
